How to calculate damage negated[]

The formula is 

(Original Damage x (Resistance) ) - Defense = Real Damage

Resistaces are multiplied together, so a Magical Hat (-25%) and Knight's Armor (-10%) will give (0.75 x 0.9 = 0.675) a total of -32.5% dark damage. 

Critical Strikes don't include defense, but still take resistances into account. 

Example: A Handevil normally deals 66 dark damage to a unclothed hero and 132 critical damage. But now the same hero wears a Magical Hat (6 defense, -25% dark damage), Knight's Armor (20 defense, -10% dark damage), and Iron Bracelet (5 defense). A Handevil will now deal 13 damage on a regular hit and 89 damage on a critical hit.
